Privacy Policy

What Data We Collect

• Email address— provided when you use your free check or create an account.
• Receipt images— temporarily processed for analysis only. We do NOT store your receipt images after processing.
• IP address— used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
• Browser fingerprint— a non-identifying hash used to prevent free-tier abuse.
• Analysis results— category, score, and pricing data (no images) are stored to improve our service.
• Payment information— handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

How We Use Your Data

• Process and analyze your uploaded receipts.
• Prevent abuse of the free tier.
• Process payments through Stripe.
• Send transactional emails (payment confirmations only — no marketing unless you opt in).
• Improve our pricing accuracy and service quality.

What We Do NOT Do

• We do not store your receipt images. They are deleted immediately after processing.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not share your personal information with advertisers.
• We do not use your data for any purpose other than providing and improving the RipCheck service.

Data Retention

Email addresses and account data are retained as long as your account is active. Analysis results (without images) are retained to improve pricing accuracy. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude AI)— receipt analysis. Images are sent to Claude's API for processing and are not retained by Anthropic.
• Supabase— database and authentication infrastructure.
• Vercel— hosting and deployment.
